When I started this blog, I had no idea about the whole world of blogging. There are sooo many great blogs out there! In the beginning there were so many people looking at my blog and lots of sweet comments. I was so excited that my blog was somehow growing! Then, the traffic started to slow down, which is understandable...it is summertime. Then, last week I got my first not so nice comment. I think this comment is what really made me start questioning my blog. Blogging takes a lot of time, and is so personal. We, as bloggers, are putting ourselves out there sharing with the world our ideas, and it is (in my opinion) quite rude to leave a comment that is anything but completely nice. Sure, there are going to be things that I create or ideas that I have that aren't going to be to everyone's liking, but if you don't like it, why must you say it?
Thank you soooo much to all my sweet readers who are continually reading my blog and leaving kind & encouraging comments!!!
you better keep blogging! I love love love ya & can't imagine you getting a mean comment! You just keep on shining & smiling! xxoo
ReplyDeleteI love reading your blog! You are one of the people that I follow that actually has a lot of the same tastes as I do, and I love seeing what you come up with! Some people are just plain angry - for no reason at all - and use the internet as an outlet where they don't need to be accountable for their behavior, and it's really a shame that they think that it is acceptable. Keep your head up, and Please Keep Blogging!!
ReplyDeleteboo, I am sorry you got a nasty comment! People are just strange! I love reading!
ReplyDeleteGotta have thick skin! It's so hard, but don't let the turkeys get ya down! Keep doing what you do! Don't let one person have that much control over your lovely blog and creativity!! Alyssa
ReplyDeleteI have gotten some rude comments too! i just deleted them after i had my ( oh no she didnt) moment. :) :)
ReplyDeletekeep on blogging!!
Mindy!
I totally agree- why comment if you don't have anything nice to say! no worries- think of all the great comments you get and I am sure they will completely outweigh that one!:)
ReplyDeleteSometimes I think people just don't realize that their opinion is not always appreciated or necessary. Try to ignore the rude ones and just enjoy the lovely ladies that appreciate your efforts and encourage you. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteI sooo hope you decide to continue blogging...I enjoy visiting your blog...xoxo, Mariaelena
ReplyDeleteYou must just ignore them! Whether it's insecurity or jealousy on their part, ignore them and move on to another post. This is your blog and you can't go any where! Don't I sound all bossy, seriously tough, ignore any nasties and carry on with what your doing, I think the not so nice comments are all part and parcel of blogging.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with Amanda. A person who feels the need to leave a nasty or negative comment is insecure, jealous, has some other type of "personality disorder", or is unhappy in their own life....too much to go into, but you get the idea. I've had extensive experience with psychology and I can assure you, it's them, not you. :) I wouldn't let it worry me; just keep on doing what you're doing. As long as *you're* happy with what you're doing, do let someone else's problem get you down. ANYHOO, thanks a whole lotta bunches and bushels for the "how to cut molding" tute!!! YOU ROCK!! I was sitting here cruising blogs, wondering how on earth I was going to figure it out, and WHAM!!! there you are! Exactly what I was looking for! Thanks sooooo much!! SEE?? You're helping people!! LOL Great blog!
ReplyDeletethat shoulda said "DON'T"...... LOL
ReplyDeleteThe way I see it, a blog (especially a mommy/vanity blog) is just the online version of a person's diary or journal. It is the personal thoughts of the blogger. When I write, even though I make it public, I am not really interested in someone's differing opinion, especially if written in anger. There may be times I ask for people's thoughts and, if so, that is a little different.
ReplyDeleteDon't get me wrong, I love comments. Kind, sweet, funny ones make my day. But the world is full of enough bitterness on its own for people to go and extend it to a person's blog. Bottom line...if one doesn't like it, they just shouldn't read it anymore.
Keep on blogging, girl!
Apparently they didn't get the "If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all" memo we all get growing up. Just press delete and keep going.
ReplyDeleteOk,,, where is the culprit? I'm going to take her or him down immediately! Shake it off sister. Some people must have lots of extra time to go around leaving mean comments. You know the good outweigh the bad for miles, so keep it up! You rock!

Keep on blogging! I adore reading your posts and seeing everything that you 'create', even though I don't always comment.
ReplyDeleteAs for negative comments, just try and ignore. I don't know why haters hate. They aren't forced to read a blog, so they should just go elsewhere. I like to think they were having a bad day and just took it out on me, and I go on my merry way.

Some people just haven't been raised right, I always follow the rule that "if you don't have nothing nice to say, don't say anything!
ReplyDeleteJust keep on blogging I so enjoy your blog!
Emily, that is really too bad that you had to have that happen to you! I can`t imagine why a person would ever WANT to leave someone a mean comment.. but a person like that has issues!
ReplyDeleteIt`s totally their problem. Just keep doing your thing and keep posting! Your blog is fabulous, shine on girl!! :)
Some people are just grumpy and think it's okay to pass that grumpiness on (it's so not!). Just wanted to encourage you and let ya know that there are lots of us gals out here who love reading your blog. A mama is busy to begin with, and the fact that you put time into blogging says a lot! Thanks for what you do! <3
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry you've hit a bump in the road, Emily. I do hope you'll continue to blog. I have subscribed to your blog in my reader, but today I signed up to follow you.
ReplyDeletePlease dont let a mean spirited and rude person take away your joy. If you like blogging please keep doing it. We cant let the meanies win LOL.
ReplyDeleteIt's easier said than done but hang in there. I know exactly what you mean. We put so much of our time, energy, and personality into these blogs that it gets exhausting and sometimes it doesn't take much to make us question it all. But your blog is beautiful and you always have great posts, so hit that delete button and know that there are A LOT of other people out there who love what you do~
ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful home and I am always inspired by your blog and creativity, feel sorry for the culprit that they are not as happy and content as the rest of us are! Keep up the great work! Diane
ReplyDeleteI love your blog! You are very inspiring!! You have awesome taste and are very creative!!
ReplyDeletethats mighty brave of them to leave a faceless comment on your blog. I wonder if you met them face to face would they say the same, I don't think so somehow. Perhaps jealousy was their motivation.I love your blog, and I know this won't deter you! Rise above it, the only way.
